ECO4 is aimed at households facing high energy costs and living in energy inefficient houses.

Crucially, both homeowners and renters can qualify for the scheme.

For homeowners, your property needs to have an energy performance rating (EPC) of a D or below

If there isn’t an energy certificate for your home, we can help to assess its eligibility and arrange a free retrofit survey if it qualifies.

For private renters or those renting from a housing association, your property needs to have an energy performance rating (EPC) of an E or below

If there isn’t an energy certificate for your home, we can help to assess its eligibility and arrange a free retrofit survey if it qualifies.

Next step - check your personal eligibility

Somebody in your household also needs to qualify personally – this can either be through benefits or through the local council route (LA Flex):

How much support can you receive?

The value of ECO4 support varies depending on your property and the measures required. Many households receive £7,000 to £20,000+ worth of improvements, fully covered by the scheme. The goal is to significantly improve the energy performance of the least efficient homes.
